Synectics’ latest generation of ESM solutions now includes a body worn system. With size, weight & power ever critical on the warfighter, Synectics have developed the world’s smallest, full featured ESM solution. Offering threat warning, full spectral surveillance and direction finding on the moving soldier.

    Features

  • High technical performance yet easy to operate
  • Body worn and/or vehicle fit
  • Light weight, small volume, low power consumption

    Benefits

  • Up-to 16 band channels – Channels can be listened to and/or recorded simultaneously, meaning radio activity won’t be missed through scanning frequencies
  • Fast Scan 1 GHz/s
  • Easy to use – simple HMI
  • Pre- and Post- mission analysis software (runs on a computer)
  • SOI filters & associated alarm/notification methods- part of pre-mission setup
  • TDOA ready
  • High performance, yet small package

    Chili Technical Data:

  • Frequency 30 MHz to 3 GHz (intercept) and 30 MHz to 2 GHz (DF)
  • HF capability down to 2 MHz – future enhancement
  • 22 MHz stare bandwidth
  • Scan speed – 1 GHz/s
  • WinRadio tuner with integral LO
  • Narrow-band coarse DF:

  • o Fixed /vehicle 5 deg rms DF accuracy
    o Man-portable 20 deg rms DF accuracy

  • DDCs: 4 (min), or more, 5 MHz bandwidth DDCs – all of which can be recorded simultaneously, 2 of which can be output to headphones
  • AM/FM/SSB/CW demod. Ehanced demods in response to customer needs
  • TDOA ready- implementation as future enhancement
  • External GPS for position and time reference
  • HMI – two solutions:

  • o For on-the-march-use VEEcam console as primary user interface device
o For vehicle or extended signal anaylsis – use Analyst Station

  • Signal filters to customise system response to specific SOIs (including alarms/alerts)
  • Simple antenna solutions

  • o Whip antenna for discreet signal intercept and recording – baseline offering
o Cubic-type (“pizza box”) antenna solution for coarse DF- baseline offering
o Hand-held Cubic-type antenna for coarse DF – Optional offering
o Ability to include other directional antennas (+DMC input) to give coarse DF- future based on market demand

  • Power-accept wide range of power input including supply from external battery pack
  • Lowest power design consistent with market demand – 8 hour operation desired
  • Size- carry/operate in small Bergen (use in webbing pocket desirable)
  • -20 to + 70 deg C operating temp range
  • EMC/EMI – designed to meet Land class A (not qualified until prospect matures)
  • Windows-based rugged PC
  • IP connectivity to Core System for information exchange
  • Functions

  • o Pre-mission – define & load tasking (freq, filters, ignore list, etc...)
o Post-mission – read Core System data allowing:

  • Database of intercepts
  • Map functions – plot of SOIs
  • Non-real time DF
  • Search functions
  • Hoka for additional demods
  • For enhanced demod functions use Core System
